Rail Infraestructures

Avenida del Ferrocarril

Avenida del Ferrocarril, built on a railway trench that separated neighbourhoods and prevented and limited urban connections, became one of the city’s main streets. In the urbanisation of the avenue all the details were covered, including the installation of the necessary equipment to comply with the accessibility law, which was in process precisely during the development of the works, which were adapted to the new regulations as they were established.

Avenida del Ferrocarril received an award from the Basque – Navarre Association of Urban Planning Architects AVNAU. The jury rated ”its urban significance in the Bilbao global renovation strategy and having repaired a historical debt” with the neighbourhoods separated by the railway trenches.
