Herriko Plaza

The central square in Barakaldo was subjected to a total regeneration, including the construction of an underground car park, carried out by the local Town Hall, and the redevelopment of the area above ground, which was carried out by BILBAO Ría 2000 in the context of the actions of the Urban Plan. The redevelopment work made it possible to double its pedestrian area and to recover its character as a central urban space. The project was designed by the architect Joaquín Montero.
