    CAPITAL BILBAO AWARD FOR URBAN TRANSFORMATION<\/h6>\n

    The magazine \u201cCapital\u201d presented the \u201cCapital Bilbao\u201d awards on 12 February 2013 to showcase Bilbao as an example of inspiration for urban transformation and to pay tribute to the dynamism, innovation and industrial vocation of companies in Bilbao and Bizkaia BILBAO R\u00eda 2000 received the Urban Transformation Award for the project or institution that has most contributed to the modernisation of Bilbao.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

    TROPHY FROM THE BIZKAIA SPORTS PRESS ASSOCIATION FOR CONTRIBUTION TO THE RECOVERY OF THE ESTUARY ENVIRONMENT<\/h6>\n

    As part of the 2012 Sports Gala, held on 27 December, the Bizkaia Sports Press Association (APDB) organised an event to recognise the institutions that have contributed to the recovery of the Estuary environment \u201cto the point of turning it into a new sports stadium\u201d in Bilbao. The entities that received a trophy for this reason were the Bilbao Bizkaia Water Consortium, the Basque Water Agency and BILBAO R\u00eda 2000.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

    ISOCARP AWARD FOR URBAN PLANNING EXCELLENCE<\/h6>\n

    The International Society of City and Regional Planners (ISOCARP) awarded one of its four Excellence Awards to BILBAO R\u00eda 2000, in the \u201cUrban Planning\u201d category, for its work in urban regeneration in the Urban-Galindo area (Barakaldo). The award was presented in Nairobi as part of the 46th ISOCARP Congress, attended by over 700 delegates from around the world.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

    BILBAO R\u00eda 2000, CHOSEN AS BEST BASQUE COMPANY IN 2006<\/h6>\n

    BILBAO R\u00eda 2000 was chosen as the best Basque company of 2006 in the tenth edition of the awards given annually by the magazine \u201cMundo Empresarial Europeo\u201d. The jury highlighted the work in the \u201curban recovery of land of previous industrial use that has enabled emblematic actions to be undertaken\u201d. The award was presented by the Minister for Industry, Joan Clos.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

    \u201cAGECU\u201d AWARD FOR THE BEST INTERVENTION IN URBAN CENTRES<\/h6>\n

    The Spanish Association for the Management of Urban Centres (AGECU) gave BILBAO Ria 2000 the award for the Best Intervention in an Urban Centre as an example of public-private collaboration and for favouring the urban transformation of Bilbao and its metropolitan environment. The awards ceremony took place in Bilbao on 22 June.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

    In commemoration of its 20th anniversary, the company DZ Centro de Dise\u00f1o, under the Department of Innovation and Economic Promotion of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, agreed to give this award to BILBAO R\u00eda 2000 \u201cFor its work in favour of design<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE FROM THE INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY OF CITY AND REGIONAL PLANNERS IsoCaRP<\/h6>\n

    Awarded for \u201cthe boost given to the transformation of the City and its metropolitan area through inter-institutional cooperation, creativity and the search for excellence in urban planning and architecture\u201d which has led \u201cIsoCaRP to consider BILBAO R\u00eda 2000 as a key factor in Bilbao\u2019s transition towards the creative economy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    Awarded by the C\u00d3DICE publishing group. It was presented by the Minister for Housing, Mar\u00eda Antonia Trujillo, and awarded in the \u201cBest Overall Performance\u201d category for \u201curban development for recovering degraded areas\u201d and for \u201cthe active commitment of all the organisations involved in BILBAO R\u00eda 2000\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

Awarded for the collaboration between the different agents that make up the Company, \u201cfor the work performed to make Bilbao what it is today and because they continue to work to improve the city.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    \nAward for the OAVS operation (Abandoibarra, Ametzola, Variante Sur ferroviaria) in the Local Urban Regeneration Plans section. For the \u201cexceptional strategy that this complex transformation has entailed\u201d and for \u201cthe method carried out in its implementation (which) is an example for many other European transformation projects\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    Special mention in the Urban Planning category<\/strong> for the Redevelopment of the Marzana, La Merced and Urazurrutia docks. For \u201cthe successful treatment of the intervention on an urban scale\u201d.<\/p>\n
