{"id":4431,"date":"2019-11-15T11:36:51","date_gmt":"2019-11-15T10:36:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bilbaoria2000.org\/activity\/bilbao-la-vieja\/urbanizacion-de-muelles\/"},"modified":"2020-11-12T16:33:10","modified_gmt":"2020-11-12T15:33:10","slug":"urbanisation-of-docks","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bilbaoria2000.org\/en\/actions\/bilbao-la-vieja\/urbanisation-of-docks\/","title":{"rendered":"Urbanisation of docks"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-md-12\">\n<p>The docks of La Merced, Marzana and Urazurrutia were completely refurbished in stages to modernise their structure and make them pedestrianised.<\/p>\n<p>The work carried out, with a project by Juan S\u00e1daba and Jos\u00e9 Luis Burgos, aimed to recover a degraded area and facilitate its daily use as a promenade along the estuary.<\/p>\n<p>The rehabilitation, which received funding from the Basque Government through the Izartu Programme, defines a pedestrian area that recovers the banks of the Nervi\u00f3n in the same way as in other areas of the estuary such as Abandoibarra or Barakaldo.
